Thank you for using Think In Cycles, a service provided by BTN Pte Ltd ("BTN", "we", "our", "us"), a company incorporated in Singapore.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Think In Cycles, our AI-powered causal loop diagram generator, and all related websites, services, and software located at thinkincycles.com (collectively, the "Services"). By using our Services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

These Terms incorporate by reference our other published policies that apply to the Services, including our Privacy Policy, Usage Policy, Refund Policy, Cookie Policy, and any product, pricing, billing, or feature-specific terms presented to you in the Services. Together, these documents form the agreement between you and BTN for use of the Services.

If you are using the Services on behalf of a company or organisation, you represent that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.

1. Who We Are

BTN Pte Ltd is a Singapore-based technology company. To learn more about BTN, please visit https://btn.sg.

2. Registration & Access

2.1 Minimum Age

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Services.

2.2 Account Information

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and all activity on your account.

2.3 Corporate Accounts

If you sign up using an email belonging to an organisation, BTN may treat that organisation as the account owner and may transfer or merge your account into its enterprise environment.

3. Using Our Services

3.1 Permitted Use

Subject to these Terms, BTN grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Services in compliance with applicable laws, these Terms, our incorporated policies, and any applicable third-party provider terms or policies.

3.2 Prohibited Use

You must not:

• Use the Services for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive activities.
• Infringe the rights of others, including privacy or intellectual property rights.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or model internals.
• Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or extract data, including model outputs.
• Misrepresent AI-generated output as human-generated.
• Bypass restrictions, rate limits, or security measures.
• Use automated or scripted methods to simulate manual usage or evade fair use controls.
• Use output to develop competing AI models.
• Use the Services in ways that could cause harm to BTN, users, or the public.
• Upload images containing illegal, harmful, or rights-infringing content.

3.3 Third-Party Services

Third-party integrations or content may appear in the Services. BTN is not responsible for third-party terms, content, or performance.

3.4 Feedback

Any feedback you provide may be used by BTN without restriction or compensation.

3.5 Beta and Early Access Services

BTN may offer access to early access, private beta, public beta, preview, experimental, pre-release, or trial features or Services ("Beta Services"). Beta Services may be incomplete, contain errors, change materially, be unavailable, or be discontinued at any time.

Beta Services are provided for evaluation and feedback and are provided "as is" and "as available". Unless BTN expressly agrees in writing, Beta Services do not include any service level agreement, uptime commitment, support commitment, response-time commitment, security commitment, data retention commitment, or commitment that any feature or workflow will remain available.

You use Beta Services at your own risk. BTN may limit, suspend, modify, withdraw, or decline to make Beta Services generally available at any time, without liability except where required by law.

4. AI Services & Data Processing

4.1 AI-Powered Features

Think In Cycles uses artificial intelligence to generate causal loop diagrams from your input. When you use our diagram generation features:

• Your text descriptions and uploaded images are processed by AI models to generate diagrams.
• We use third-party AI services, which may include providers such as Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT), Google (Gemini), and xAI (Grok), depending on the feature, model, or configuration used.
• Your input data is transmitted to these AI providers for processing.
• Use of these AI services is subject to the respective providers' terms and policies.

4.2 Image Uploads

When you upload images for diagram generation:

• You represent that you have the rights to use and submit the image content.
• Images are transmitted to AI services for analysis.
• You must not upload images containing personal data of others without consent, confidential information, or content that violates applicable laws.

5. Content

5.1 Your Content

"Content" includes:

• Input: information, text descriptions, or images you submit to the Services.
• Output: diagrams, responses, or results generated by the Services.

You are responsible for your Content and warrant that you have the rights and permissions to provide it.

5.2 Ownership

As between you and BTN:

• You retain ownership of your Input.
• BTN assigns to you any rights BTN may hold in your specific Output, to the extent permitted by law.

5.3 Similarity of Output

Outputs may be similar across users due to the nature of AI. No exclusive rights are granted over such similar outputs.

5.4 Our Use of Content

BTN may use Content to operate, maintain, and improve the Services, comply with legal obligations, and enforce safety and policy measures.

5.5 Opt-Out for Model Training

Only users with paid accounts may opt out of allowing their Content to be used to improve our models. Opt-out may be managed through user account settings.

Free users, including users who are not logged in, do not have the ability to opt out.

5.6 Accuracy of AI Output

5.7 Responsibility for User Content, Prompts, and Downstream Use

You are solely responsible for the Content you create, submit, publish, export, share, or otherwise use through the Services, including any prompts, uploaded material, generated responses, and diagrams.

You are also solely responsible for any downstream decisions, actions, communications, publications, or outcomes based on AI-generated output, including where output is modified, combined with other materials, or used in third-party systems.

Where the Services allow you to modify AI system prompts or configurations, you assume all risk for the resulting behavior and output. BTN is not responsible for consequences arising from prompt modifications made by you or by users acting under your account.

5.8 Provider Policy Violations and Safety Flags

You are responsible for ensuring that your prompts, system prompts, uploaded materials, generated outputs, configurations, and use of the Services comply with these Terms, our Usage Policy, applicable law, and any applicable third-party AI provider policies.

If your Content, prompts, system prompts, configurations, or activity are flagged by BTN, a third-party AI provider, infrastructure provider, payment provider, or other service provider as potentially unlawful, unsafe, abusive, policy-violating, or harmful, BTN may investigate and may immediately limit, suspend, or terminate your access to the Services.

Where the Services allow you to modify prompts, system prompts, model instructions, or configurations, you assume responsibility for the resulting behavior and output. You agree that BTN may hold you responsible for provider flags, enforcement actions, claims, losses, costs, or restrictions arising from your Content, prompts, configurations, or use of the Services.

5.9 Backups and Preservation of Content

You are responsible for keeping your own copies, exports, and backups of any Content, diagrams, files, outputs, or other materials that are important to you. BTN does not guarantee that Content will be preserved, recoverable, exportable, or available at any particular time.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BTN is not responsible for loss, corruption, deletion, alteration, or inability to access Content, including Content created, stored, published, exported, or shared through Beta Services.

6. Publishing & Sharing

6.1 Published Diagrams

When you publish diagrams through our Services:

• Your diagrams are stored on cloud infrastructure (Google Firebase) and may be accessible via unique URLs.
• You may set password protection for published diagrams; however, anyone with the password can access the content.
• You are responsible for the content you publish and share.
• BTN may remove published content that violates these Terms or applicable laws.

6.2 Export Formats

The Services offer various export formats including JSON, XMILE, and SVG. Export functionality is provided "as is" and BTN does not guarantee compatibility with third-party software or systems.

7. Intellectual Property

BTN and its licensors retain all rights in the Services. You may not use BTN's trademarks, branding, or software except as permitted by written permission or published brand guidelines.

8. Paid Plans

8.1 Billing

If you purchase paid Services, you must provide accurate billing and payment information. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.

8.2 Free and Personal Learning Use

Any plan, feature, entitlement, or access mode labelled as "Free" or "Personal Learning" is provided solely for individual personal learning and evaluation.

Free/Personal Learning access must not be used for:

• commercial, client, revenue-generating, or business operations;
• institutional or organisational activities;
• academic, classroom, lab, department, university, or school use;
• any use by or on behalf of a company, non-profit, government body, or educational institution.

If your use falls into any category above, you must use an applicable paid plan. BTN may suspend or restrict access, require plan migration, or terminate access for misuse of Free/Personal Learning access in accordance with Section 9.

8.3 Taxes

You are responsible for any applicable taxes. BTN will collect taxes where required by law.

8.4 Promotional Discounts

BTN may offer promotional, early-access, founding-member, private-beta, public-beta, or other limited discounts or entitlements. Unless BTN states otherwise in writing, promotional discounts apply only while the eligible paid subscription remains continuously active.

If the subscription is cancelled, expires, is revoked, payment fails, access is terminated, or the subscription otherwise ends, the promotional discount may not be available on a future subscription. Promotional discounts are not redeemable for cash, are not refundable, are not transferable, and may be subject to additional eligibility rules communicated at the time of offer.

8.5 Service Credits

Pre-paid service credits, if offered, are governed by the terms in this Section 8.5.

Where plans list monthly credit amounts, those credits refresh each monthly billing cycle and do not roll over unless explicitly stated otherwise by BTN.

Unless otherwise stated, comparative AI usage descriptions (e.g. "10x AI usage", "100x AI usage") are relative to the Explorer plan's included AI usage for the same billing period. These descriptions refer to relative plan limits or credits, not a guarantee of output volume, speed, quality, or availability.

BTN may update credit limits, allocations, or metering policy over time. Material changes will be handled in accordance with the notice approach described in Section 8.7.

8.6 Cancellation

You may cancel at any time. Payments are non-refundable except as required by law.

8.7 Price Changes

BTN may change pricing with at least 30 days' advance notice for changes that materially affect your subscription.

8.8 Unlimited Plans and Fair Use

Where a plan is described as including unlimited manual diagrams, "unlimited" means no fixed per-month diagram cap for normal, individual, interactive use of the Services.

• Unlimited access does not permit abuse, misuse, or attempts to circumvent service safeguards.
• Automated, scripted, bot, bulk, or programmatic generation designed to bypass normal interactive use is not permitted unless expressly authorised by BTN in writing.
• Use that degrades platform reliability, security, or availability for other users is not permitted.
• Unlimited manual diagrams are for the subscribing user (or the number of seats purchased) and do not include unauthorised account sharing.
• You may not share login credentials or allow multiple individuals to use a single-user subscription.
• BTN may apply reasonable technical protections (including rate limiting, temporary throttling, or usage controls) to protect the Services.
• If usage is excessive, abusive, creates operational risk, or involves unauthorised account sharing, BTN may suspend, limit access, or require a plan change in accordance with Section 9.

9. Termination & Suspension

BTN may limit, suspend, terminate, or permanently block your access to the Services, including future access, if:

• You violate these Terms, our policies, third-party provider policies, or the law.
• Your usage, Content, prompts, system prompts, configurations, or activity poses risk or harm to BTN, users, third-party providers, infrastructure providers, payment providers, or the public.
• Your activity is flagged by BTN or a third-party provider as potentially unlawful, unsafe, abusive, policy-violating, or harmful.
• BTN is legally required to do so.

BTN may take these actions with or without prior notice where necessary to protect the Services, users, providers, BTN, or the public.

Accounts without active paid plans that remain inactive for more than 1 month may be closed.

10. Discontinuation of Services

BTN may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the Services, including features, plans, models, integrations, export formats, or Beta Services. BTN will provide notice where required by law or where BTN determines it is commercially reasonable. Refunds, if any, will be provided only where required by law or expressly stated by BTN.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law:

• BTN is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost business opportunities, loss of goodwill, service interruption, loss of data, loss of Content, or costs of substitute services.
• BTN's aggregate liability will not exceed SGD $100.

13. Indemnity

If you are a business or organisation, you agree to indemnify and hold BTN harmless from claims, damages, and legal expenses arising from your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.

14. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration

14.1 Informal Resolution

Before starting arbitration or court proceedings, you must first contact support@thinkincycles.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. Both parties agree to try to resolve the dispute in good faith for at least 60 days after the first written notice of the dispute.

14.2 Mandatory Arbitration

Except for the matters described in Section 14.4, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Services, your account, your Content, your use of AI features, billing, subscriptions, or any relationship with BTN must be resolved by binding arbitration seated in Singapore.

Arbitration will be conducted by a sole arbitrator under the rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), unless both parties agree otherwise. The language of arbitration will be English. The arbitrator's decision will be final and binding, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

14.3 No Class or Representative Proceedings

All disputes must be brought only on an individual basis. You and BTN waive any right to bring, participate in, or recover through any class action, collective action, representative action, consolidated proceeding, private attorney general action, or similar proceeding, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

14.4 Exceptions

Nothing in this Section prevents BTN from seeking urgent injunctive or equitable relief in court to protect the Services, its systems, intellectual property, confidential information, users, providers, payment systems, or the public. BTN may also take account-level enforcement action, including suspension, termination, blocking future access, or preserving evidence, without first completing informal resolution or arbitration.

Either party may also seek to compel arbitration, enforce an arbitration award, or address a claim that cannot legally be arbitrated in a court of competent jurisdiction.

15. Copyright Concerns

If you believe your intellectual property rights have been infringed via the Services, you may submit a written notice to legal@thinkincycles.com including:

• A physical or electronic signature of the rights holder or authorised agent
• Description of the copyrighted work
• Identification of the allegedly infringing material on our Services
• Your contact information
• A statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorised
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and you are authorised to act

16. General Terms

16.1 Assignment

You may not assign your rights under these Terms. BTN may assign its rights to affiliates or successors.

16.2 Changes to Terms

BTN may update these Terms for legal, safety, or operational reasons. Material updates will be communicated with 30 days' notice.

16.3 No Waiver

Failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver of BTN's rights.

16.4 Severability

If any provision of these Terms or any incorporated policy is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

16.5 Trade Controls

You must comply with Singapore export controls and international sanctions. The Services may not be used in restricted jurisdictions.

16.6 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the policies and additional terms incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and BTN regarding use of the Services.
